It's almost here 😁

The camping experience of your dreams!

Hey music junkie,

How was your Easter weekend like? Did you meet up with friends, party all weekend long or sleep like a sloth? No judgement btw :)

I had one of the most rejuvenating weekends out of town. Going to a place where you see more land and trees than buildings always brings a feeling of freedom within me. While helping a sister move out of the countryside (into another one), I got to connect with nature, explore a little town, and even climb a whole hill.

Call me a rock climber 😁

If you're in need of some nature therapy, stay tuned cause I have the perfect plan for you!

EVENT OF THE WEEK

Sankofa Camp is almost here!

If you remember, last week I shared with you this camping experience that’s unlike any other, yet it’s everything we’ve ever wanted. Waking up with Afrikan yoga, foraging for food in the forest, sharing stories by the bonfire, making music together and dancing under the stars like we’re young wild and free. Healing with nature and community.

That’s exactly the plan this weekend at Sparrow’s Creek Ecocamp in Rongai.

Each session will have an experienced practitioner guiding us. Oh, and did I mention I’ll also be leading one? It’s called Spirit Dance, where I’ll guide you into trance-like dance until you forget anyone’s watching. I do it all the time so I cannot wait to show you how to do it too!

Remember it’s a camping experience so carry a tent (if you don’t have you can hire one), beddings, umbrella in case of rain, mosquito repellant, and all that good stuff. We’re literally going back to our roots this weekend.

In case you’re wondering where we’ll be and what to expect…

PLAYLIST OF THE WEEK

Music of the month - March 2024

As you get ready for the Sankofa camp of the year, here’s some new music to syke you up. It’s our monthly music playlist where I curate the best new songs released, from the next Kenyan hits to international bangers.

This March, we received some pretty impressive tracks from Matata (Matata), King Kaka and Bridget Blue. I literally applauded at the end because of how great they are. Oh, and one track you have to listen to is Piny Lara by Australian-based artist Elsy Wameyo. That chorus is so beautiful it almost brought me to tears.

Whether you need a lunchtime playlist, one to keep you company at work, or to impress people at a party, this is it!

Thank you for being here. I apprecilove every minute you spend consuming my content, whether here or on Instagram. Because we’re back baby!

Remember my inbox is always open in case you want to share feedback, breaking news, or simply say hi. I always love hearing from you.

Okay. One more thing. See you at Sankofa Camp this weekend 😊

Until next time,
Stay high on music
