New month, new music!
Enjoy your non-Labour Day with these gems

Hey music junkie,
How are you feeling this new day and month? Just like yesterday? Me too!
Personally, life and work is becoming busier every day. Not that I’m complaining, I’m grateful for all the wonderful opportunities flowing my way. Pun unintended.
Last weekend was absolutely incredible by the way. On Friday, I visited Bomas of Kenya again thanks to Santuri’s SEMA class. And got to experience traditional music and dances live - and even played the wandindi.
Later that evening, we went to our usual Friday night spot. If you guessed The Mist, you’re absolutely right. And we jammed to techno music all night long, because TCHNO is back!
And on Saturday, I watched the most triggering play of my life! NUMB3RS wasn’t just about gender based violence, it was about our everyday lives. I will review this powerful play one day, just for you.
But for now, I got some new month goodies for you. Let’s get started, May I say :)
PLAYLIST OF THE WEEK
Music of the month
Being a brand new month, you deserve brand new music - right? And in April, our Kenyan artists did not come to play! Banger after banger, from SwaR&B by LAfrik to Sulu Sulu by Unganisha. Which they premiered during our Jadili Session at Santuri Salon two weeks ago.
In case you’re wondering what’s happening in the international scene, I got you! I’m especially loving Willow Smith’s new mature sound, and you will too.
Oh, and that tantalizing track Watendawili and Matata teased at Wozaa World last month? It’s finally out! Check it out here
ARTICLE OF THE WEEK
Love Language by Fancy Fingers

Have you listened to the latest album by Fancy Fingers? Well you should because it’s the first Kenyan album to feature only African female artists. According to ChatGPT that is.
Whether you believe it or not, Love Language will introduce you to fresh female voices from Zimbabwe, South Africa and even Uganda you haven’t heard of before. Plus the familiar voices of our very own R&B queens Njerae, Lisa Oduor and Xenia Manasseh. Even femcee Femi One jumped on a fancy beat.
Oh, and guess what? Fancy Fingers will be performing his new album live this Friday. Get all the deets here!
