A Little Rest and A Little Fun ๐
Can you handle both?

Hey music junkie,
Have you ever had a long relaxing weekend at home? And just when you were enjoying being young, wild and free, Monday comes along and you become super busy again?
Me too sis, me too ๐
For the first time in a long while I stayed indoors all weekend long. Probably to make up for the previous weekend where I partied from Friday to Sunday. Blame it on Mashujaa Day.
But still, it was a memorable week. On Thursday, I gathered the courage to read two vulnerable poems I wrote, in Swahili. And my misty friends at The Clearing loved them. You can listen to them here.
And on Friday, I experienced a magical ritual at Munyu Space as part of the Sonic Mass exhibition (ending this Thursday). Tizzita took us through an Ethiopian ritual full of candles, herbs and sweet scents in the air. After being smudged by sage, we wrote down what we want to release, burnt our papers on flames, and anointed our bodies with frankincense.
Talk about an experience!
And after the healing release ritual, she served us Ethiopian injera (the brown one) with a sauce made of flax seeds. I swear the injera tasted like pizza bread. If only it had avocado, greens and cherry tomatoes on top ๐

The injera in question
Oh, and let's not forget TCHNO Takeover. Another healing gathering that happens every fourth Friday of the month at The Mist. As always, thank God for Jaba (not Jesus) for taking us through the whole night till sunrise.
In between these interesting events, I've been busy creating something special for you. If you're an artist, event organizer or both, you're going to love this. And if not, stay tuned because you're love these upcoming events.
FEATURE OF THE MONTH
The Ultimate Event Promotion Checklist
Let's be real for a minute. You know sharing an event poster on social media and saying โcome let's vibeโ is not enough to get people excited for your event. And that's why I created this special checklist.
All you have to do is follow these 5 simple steps so you can promote your event effectively, attract your target audience and sell those tickets. No more wondering what to post next or where to share your event to reach more people, it's all in here.
EVENTS OF THE WEEK
Hadithi Hangout at Santuri Salon
And speaking of events, Hadithi Hangout is back! This is our monthly book club at Santuri Salon where we unearth literary gems from our library. And this Thursday, we're exploring Nairobi's vibrant club culture through the book Ten Cities.
Welcome from 5pm to enjoy tea and snacks, listen to old-school Kenyan music and buy some merch with a message. Before we dive into Nairobi's club culture in the 1960s (spoiler alert: it was lit!)
Faraja Chillout at Tipo Kilimani
When is the last time you sat down on the grass, sipped a cool glass of (insert your favourite drink) and listened to live acoustic music? Well you don't have to wonder anymore because Faraja Chillout is exactly that and more!
Come and get serenaded by the soulful sounds of Aneya, JT Bulinda, Ndibรธ, Gilda and Ni Wahome under the Nairobae sun. And it's okay if you don't know some (or all) of them, being a music junkie is all about discovering the next Kenyan star. Tukutane this Saturday at Tipo Kilimani (which is Muringa Space in case you're wondering).
Yup, weโre taking it nice and easy this week. Because a little rest and a little sherehe go a long way.
And if you're busy planning your end-of-year event, get your promotion checklist here before the price goes back up on Saturday ๐๐พ
Until next time,
Stay high on music
