You're not ready for this weekend!
Or are you... Let's find out 😏

Hey music junkie,
Guess what. I just came back from Kilifi. And I am tayaaad. I hope you've been catching enough zzzs for the two of us.
How was Kilifi? Full of ups and downs. The ups included attending sizzling studio sessions at Baobab Studio and eating free food at Twisted Fig.
The downs? Missing my bus and spending almost 24 hours on the road. Not to mention missing day 1 of the studio recordings.
But I learnt a lot too. The biggest lesson: never board a bus you’re not familiar with. They will surely break their promises to you, like this one.

Before more Kilifi adventures, let me tell you what's happening this weekend. Warning: it's A LOT. I'm honestly confused which events to attend and which to miss. Maybe we can decide together?
Okay, let's nduthis!
FRIDAY EVENTS
Santuri Showcase Beginner Bonanza
You've heard of SEMA right - Santuri’s electronic music academy? To celebrate the newest graduates from the award winning program, we're throwing a party!
This Santuri Showcase will feature strictly alums who've done the beginner music production course before, hence the name Beginner Bonanza. Expect sultry live performances by Kalemela, mphilo and a surprise guest - and bumping DJ sets by Lilywhite, G.I. Selects, Goddess, SHI, Moige and DJ Shock. And plenty of vibes at The Mall parking lot 🕺🏾
TCHNO Takeover at The Mist
Still at The Mall Westlands, there's a TCHNO Takeover happening at the basement. Not just your typical techno rave, TCHNO is all about growing the Kenyan techno scene through education.
That's why the theme for this second Takeover is demystifying different techno subgenres. Expect an insightful panel discussion, a live production set and surprise DJ sets - all for free. See you at The Mist?
SATURDAY EVENTS
Dipa Geng Geng party
If you love dancing to urban Kenyan hits, this Saturday party is for you. Geng Geng is back featuring the hottest Kenyan band right now Dipa Konnection. Who’ve prepared fresh new music for us!
To keep us on our dancing feet, Coco Kahi and Dr Obwakks will be on the Mist decks. And not forgetting the Geng Geng pioneers themselves, Sense and Karrl 🔥
AfroLiberation Potluck
If you're craving less crowds and more community, then THIS potluck is for you. To celebrate Afrikan Liberation Day on Saturday 25th, the conscious community will meet up at Sparrow's Creek Ecocamp in Rongai. Yup, that's the same nature heaven we hosted Sankofa Camp some weeks ago.
Saturday’s activities include smudging, meditation, arts and crafts, conversations, ital dinner and a bonfire. And you can camp over so bring your tent 🏕️
Whoo! Those are all the exciting things happening this weekend in Nairobi (and the environs). I’m sure there are more cool events but I don't want to confuse you any further. So, where will I see you this weekend?
P.S. Kilifi stories coming next week 😊
Until next time,
Stay high on music
